| The City of Richmond has been made aware of fraudulent emails impersonating City staff and requesting payment or wire transfers related to planning applications and permits. |
| These messages are NOT from the City of Richmond. Scammers are using publicly available project information to target applicants, as noted in a recent FBI IC3 Public Service Announcement (PSA) Click Here to read www.ic3.gov/PSA/2026/PSA260309. If you receive any unexpected request for payment, wiring instructions, or unusual documentation or an information request from an email with extension other than ci.richmond.ca.us or richmondca.gov do not click links or send money. Scammers are currently using emails from @usa.com Instead, • Do not respond• Do not click links or open attachments • Report the message to the City of Richmond at: 510-620-6874 or Email our CyberSecurity contact to verify the request • Verify any fees or project status directly inside iMS or by contacting staff using official City email addresses. |
